Eastern Counties Golden Retriever Club

History of the Club

The Eastern Counties Golden Retriever Club was formed in 1977, covering Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk. A Championship Show and Open Show are held annually, subject to K.C. approval, and two Field Trials and two Working Tests are now held. Additionally the Society endeavours to hold a Qualifying Test for the Show Gundog Working Certificate in January each year.

The Club arranges various educational and social events during the year, and runs a rescue scheme for Golden Retrievers. It is usual to arrange two eye testing sessions each year at the Animal Health Trust at Kennet, near Newmarket.

All events are open to all comers, and it is not necessary either to be a member, or to reside in the "Eastern" Counties area.
